This is one of the most emblematic albums of abstract hip hop made in France, worthy of masterpieces that have made the reputation of this kind of music all over the world, under the influence of its pillars as DJ Krush, DJ Shadow or DJ Vadim. An immersion based in 16 tracks in experimental hip hop universe, signed by Yohann and Tony Fresh aka L’Agence and imagined as the soundtrack of a trip between Paris and Tokyo, where fat beats and old school melodies blend into cinematic atmospheres finely built, where thug samples taken from old gangster movies and highly trained scratches are combined with selected featurings… Une real big slap for connoisseurs since the release of album in 2002. Until then A Journey Into Abstract Hip-Hop had never been released on vinyl, but that has now been done through Beatsqueeze Records, which doesn’t do things by halves : this mythical and timeless album is now available on double vinyl with MP3 download card.
