what kind of mad genius could record a trip to the dentist to have their wisdom teeth pulled only to turn it into a cds worth of awesome electronic tracks? secret mommy of course! secret mommy is the fax-warping alter ego of ache records head honcho andy dixon and 'the wisdom ep' is a mini album collection of amazingly creative tracks that includes remixes by joshua kit clayton, sun ok papi k.o of sonig records and piers whyte of ache records. each track from the wisdom ep flows together as a seemless mix offering a unique experience that won't soon be forgotten by its listeners. having played an integral part in the northwest punk scene with bands d.b.s. and more recently the red light sting, the work of vancouverite andy dixon has always been rooted in diy punk rock. though his computer-based glitch project known as secret mommy is a departure from the abrasive guitar-work of his former bands, the approach is much the same. andy creates music that sounds like the inside of a computer, with beeps and blurts and zaps and clicks perfectly organized, with the echo of techno's most complex moments vying for speaker time in the distant background the result is a polyrhythmic, visceral celebration of sporadic delight. a cut n paste exploration of activity and movement, obscured by mild absurdism.
