Islenskur turbonutter, Volruptus, contorts your expectations for the third and final 12" on International Chrome in 2023, basssalina yeee, reciprocating 2021's huge collaboration with Jensen Interceptor on the former's Sweaty Records imprint.

Endlessly inventive, the five tracks on the EP stretch and warp the concept of electro and bass music into new dimensions by adding just the right amount of odd, whether in the form of spaced out filters, unexpected pauses, or non-repetition.

From the space shanty of Ibex (which unsurprisingly for a track at 160bpm slaps just as hard when slowwwwwed riiiiiiight dowwwn) to the slightly more traditional hardcore of Brain Computer Interface, Volruptus wrings new sounds out of the traditional warp and weft whilst never forsaking the dancefloor.
