Alpine Sound 02 review

Alpine Sound’s second self-released record, sees the duo charting new territory, trading their signature heavy-hitting steppas sound with a more meditative and introspective palette.

‘Do The Cobra Dance’ on side A delivers deep acid-dub textures, anchoring a hypnotic rhythm with healthy doses of washed-out 303 action. Flip it over and you enter the more atmospheric realm of dub techno with ‘Clouds Connect’, where muted stabs, heavy low-end, and expansive delays send you drifting straight through the echo chamber.

Mastered by Jack Robinson at The Dub Crate and pressed at Well Tempered, these are two weighty dubs, equally suited to home-listening and the dance.
