Mars Assault 14 review

Second belgian artist to release on mars assault, Kvasir is not exactly new to vinyl production, having released a track on melting metals some 4 years ago, but this is now the first EP with only his music: 4 tracks, each in their own direction.

A1 classically starting with a kick, only to keep on rising to orbit like a space shuttle. The track that will settle the score and assert dominance on the dancefloor right away for anyone starting their DJ set with it !

A2 Is the perfect track to take a breath after playing a serie of bangers: steady on a heavy uptempo beat, yet rather progressive & profund, with a very deep & powerfull second part starting on a different kick sound after a mid-track break.

B1 Is quite in the mood of nowadays freetekno productions, but will keep us wandering in its "house of fools" thanks to the twist of its lead melody.

B2 Is the most experimental, clocking at 7mn48, with so many movements & arrangements, almost like an electronic symphony, and yet perfectly playable to a dancefloor in a party.

This time again we cut the second track of each side in 45rpm to keep the full frequency range until the end of the sides: the extracts on the site are recorded from the vinyl using ortofon Dj S, the element & needle recomended by mars assault.

Premastered by Dj Ultramars, cut by Hervé @ dK Mastering, 300 copies pressing.
